Dorset-based businessman and former AFC Bournemouth owner Adam Murry has bought Yeovil Town Ladies FC.

Outgoing owner Steve Allinson had offered the club up for sale last month following relegation from the FAWSL.

Murry has said of the takeover: “There has never been as much interest in the women’s game and I am delighted to have been able to support the take-over. This great club has absolutely enormous potential. We want to create a solid investment in the club’s structure, from the 1st Team right through to the Academies, with plans to take the club back into the higher leagues. We have selected a management team going forward, to create a solid platform and structure to build and develop on all at a higher level.”

The Glovers were refused an operating licence for the Championship and will start the 2019-20 season playing in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division/

Jamie Philip has been appointed new head coach in a full-time role that also includes his academy work at the club.
