Tamworth FC Ladies have been crowned champions in their debut season, following a vote from clubs within the Staffordshire League.
Tamworth FC only formed their ladies team last June but an inaugural campaign yielded 40 points from 14 games, scoring 116 league goals and conceding just 6 before leagues were suspended indefinitely.
Member clubs of the Staffordshire Girls & Ladies League voted for positions to be decided on Points Per Game, Tamworth and Sutton Rangers having dropped just 2 points each (against one another), the Lambs’ three extra games played ensured that they secured the title by less than 0.4 PPG.
However, they will have to do it all again next season in the County League with the aim of promotion to the sixth tier.
