The first implementation of club licensing for the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League has seen both Aberystwyth Town and Cardiff City FC fail to meet requirements.

The FAW stated that clubs are assessed on; Sporting: Youth & Coaching, Infrastructure, Legal, Personnel & Administration and Financial and Codes of Practice, while those refused a licence by the First Instance Body have ten days in which to submit an appeal.

FAW Tier 1 Licence and UEFA Licence for 2020/21 were achieved by Cardiff Met and Swansea City, while Abergavenny, Briton Ferry Llansawel, Cyncoed, Port Talbot Town all passed and can continue in the WPWL next season.

Barry Town United and Cascade were successful in their Tier 1 licence applications but Caldicot Town were not.
