Scotland reached the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship Elite Round, despite a 3-0 defeat in their last qualifying round Group 4 game against Poland.
Pauline MacDonald’s side had needed to avoid defeat to be sure of their progress but the Polish team were in dominant mood.
Natalia Padilla Bidas scored right at the start and although the Scottish goal was peppered with shots, it was the last dozen minutes before Kinga Kozak struck twice for a 3-0 result.
However, Scotland held onto second place in the group, as Slovakia – with whom they drew 0-0 on Sunday – failed to beat Lithuania when playing out a second goalless match.
The Elite Round draw is on 23rd November, with games being played in spring 2019.
