The curtain came down on the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League season on Wednesday with Swansea City sealing second place in the table.

The Swans had only needed to avoid defeat at home to third-placed Cyncoed but were frustrated in the first half, as Stacey John-Davis was denied by the crossbar and a goal was ruled out for offside. Jodie Passmore gave City a second-half lead but Sarah Adams needed to head off her own line to deny Cyncoed an equaliser.

Abergavenny took third place from Cyncoed when sending Cardiff City FC to a 5-1 defeat. Lyndsey Davies scored either side of a Laura Davies effort, Kate Jeremiah making it 4-0 by the break. Lyndsey Davies later completed her hat-trick and Alana Murphy got a goal back after 51 minutes.

In the other game, seventh-placed Llandudno were 3-0 winners at next-to-bottom Caernarfon Town.
