#WPWL: Swansea City Ladies defeat reigning champions

The Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League began with 2018-19 treble winners Cardiff Met losing at home to last season’s runners-up, Swansea City.

Swansea’s Stacy John-Davis got the only goal of the game at Cynoced as City downed the 2018-19 champions Cardiff Met.

But it’s Cardiff City FC Women who lead after the first round of fixtures, having returned from Abergavenny 3-0 victors. Danielle Green’s opener on 39 minutes was added after the break by Siobhan Walsh and Alana Murphy.

Port Talbot claimed the quickest goal of the day, with Bethan McGowan’s 5th-minute effort sufficeint to take three points at home to Cyncoed.

There was also just a single goal in it as Llandudno won at Briton Ferry, where Jordanne Greenough hit the net.
