#WPWL: Super-sub secures first win for Briton Ferry

Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Met made up some ground on Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League leaders Swansea City, while Briton Ferry won for the first time.

Orchard WPWL results – 8 December

Abergavenny 0-2 Cardiff Met
Briton Ferry Llansawel 1-0 Aberystwyth Town
Cardiff City FC 3-0 Cyncoed

Second-placed Cardiff City FC sent Cyncoed to a 3-0 defeat, Kate Jeremiah’s opener added to either side of the break by efforts from Zoe Atkins.

Cardiff Met took the points with two second-half goals at Abergavenny, Erin Murray breaking the deadlock and Amy Long doubling the lead on 70 minutes.

Briton Ferry Llansawel edged basement side Aberystwyth Town with the only goal of the game, super-sub Renee Leigh Day scoring 12 minutes after coming off the bench.
