Women’s Regional Leagues Round-Up: 1 November

Crewe Alexandra, Oldland Abbotonians and Wycombe Wanderers go top of their respective women’s regional league tables.

EASTERN – Wymondham win top of the table clash

PREMIER – Wymondham Town went six points clear after edging St Ives Town 2-1 in the top-two clash, Peterborough Northern Star going second when sinking hosts Colney Heath 7-0. Bedford got their first win 3-0 at Bowers & Pitsea, AFC Dunstable came out on top 5-3 over Haringey Borough.

1 SOUTH – Emily Schofield had a four-goal haul as Stevenage Development won the basement battle at East Bergholt United 6-0.

LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND – Hutton substitute Lauren Knight got the only goal to knockout Kings Lynn Town, Cambridge City Development reached the last 16 with a 4-2 result at Leigh Ramblers but the tie between Needham Market and Haverhill Rovers was abandoned before the break due to a serious injury sustained in a collision with the visitors’ keeper.

EAST MIDLANDS – Oughtibridge’s Beresford hits swift treble

PREMIER – Peterborough United stayed top with a 6-2 beating of Kettering Town, Loughborough Students went second with a 3-0 result at Ollerton Town. Zoe Beresford came off the bench to net a 17-minute hat-trick in Oughtibridge’s 6-1 scoreline with Leicester City Ladies, Northampton Town beat Mansfield Town 5-1 and Rise Park got off the mark with a 3-1 victory against Woodlands.

1 NORTH – Lincoln United made it four straight win as Tracey Duxbury-Mead claimed three of their seven goals at Arnold Eagles but Chesterfield stayed top after hitting Lincoln Moorlands-Railway for six, the visitors’ Sammy Boothright sent-off for a second caution.

1 SOUTH – Beaumont Park and Oadby & Wigston are both a point off the top after a 3-1 defeat of Loughborough Foxes Vixens and 4-2 victory at Thrapston Town respectively.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Dulwich step clear

PREMIER – Dulwich Hamlet are three points ahead of the rest having seen off Dartford 3-2, Allison Rowe with the decider in the meeting of the leading pair. Saltdean United’s Chloe Winchester hit a hat-trick the the 4-2 score at Aylesford, Ashley Cheatley did likewise as Ashford Town (Middlesex) won 5-3 at Whyteleafe, while Queens Park Rangers sub Eshe Davies struck to defeat Denham United 2-1.

1 NORTH – Watford Development’s first points came with a 3-2 victory over Victoire, in which substitute Ciara Purdue scored twice. Clapham United won 4-2 at Phoenix Sports and there was a goalless draw between New London Lionesses and Sutton United.

1 SOUTH – Herne Bay held pole position with a Lauren Williams winner in the 2-1 result at Newhaven, Crawley Wasps Development’s Priscilla Martins got both goals in the victory at Parkwood Rangers, Lewes Foundation put four past Hassocks.

NORTH EAST LEAGUE – Leading trio separated by goal-difference

PREMIER – Hartlepool United’s Justine Robinson bagged a brace for the leaders but home side Alnwick Town got two in the last 20 minutes to tie 2-2. Second-placed York City drew 1-1 with Ossett United, Wallsend BC are goal-difference off the top after a 4-1 win over South Shields. Harrogate Town sent Sheffield Wednesday home beaten 4-0 with sub Rosie Gill striking twice, Redcar Town ran out 5-1 winners at Farsley Celtic.

1 NORTH – Lumley scored three times in the first quarter of the game, as the leaders sent Chester le Street Town Development to a 3-1 defeat. Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves had Paige Hunter sent off after 36 minutes but a Shannon Reed double saw them win 3-2 at Blyth Town. Boro Rangers hit West Allotment Celtic for six and Bishop Auckland also netted half-a-dozen against Prudhoe Town.

1 SOUTH – The top four all won, led by Altofts who recorded a 3-1 result over Millmoor. Wakefield Trinity’s Emily Heckler got half their tally of six at York RI, Hull United won 4-1 at Bradford Park Avenue and Farsley Celtic Juniors beat Hepworth United 3-0.

NORTH WEST – Alex advance

PREMIER – Crewe Alexandra lead after a 6-1 success at Wigan Athletic, with goal-difference between the top five. Morecambe are among them after edging Cheadle Town Stingers 2-1, so too Tranmere Rovers and West Didsbury & Chorlton, the former beating the latter 4-1.

1 NORTH – AFC Darwen thrashed Preston North End 13-0 in the top versus  bottom fixture, Blackpool got all five goals of the game at Blackburn CSC.

1 SOUTH – Chester’s 4-1 result at West Kirby made it three wins from three, Didsbury won at Wythenshawe Amateurs by the odd goal in five, whereas Salford City Lionesses scored all five against Warrington Wolves.

SOUTHERN – Big win sends Wycombe top

PREMIER – Wycombe Wanderers are new leaders with the top four all level on points, Stephanie Mobbs’ treble helping them net a 9-1 win over Newbury. Winchester City Flyers won 4-1 over Warsash Wasps to become part of the leading pack.

ONE – Eastleigh sent leaders Southampton Women’s Reserves to a 3-0 loss, AFC Bournemouth Development were held 0-0 at home by New Milton Town.

SOUTH WEST – Oldand on top

PREMIER – Bideford’s Tracey Cross scored for a narrow win at Middlezoy Rovers, putting her side level on points with top side Marine Academy Plymouth.

1 EASTERN – Frome Town sank Swindon Spitfires 7-0 with Stacey Hill striking three times,  Swindon Town Development’s Emma Skinner matching that feat in the 8-1 result at Chipping Sodbury Town.

1 NORTHERN – Oldland Abbotonians advanced into first place as a Beth Dale effort was enough to beat Almondsbury. Weston Mendip’s Amy Clark was on target three times in a 6-2 success at Weston Super Mare.

1 WESTERN – AFC St Austell opened up a six-point lead with a 6-2 defeat of Plymouth Argyle Reserves.

WEST MIDLANDS – Basement battle ends four apiece

PREMIER – Lye Town and Coundon Court shared four goals, Sutton Coldfield Town got all five at Stockingford A A Pavilion.

1 NORTH – AFC Telford United just got the better of Shifnal Town as sub Lauren McCaffrey netted for a 2-1 score, Tamworth put eight past Port Vale as Aimee Taylor contributed three times. Despite a brace in the first seven minutes from Coventry City’s Lucy Bolitho, they were held 4-4 at home by Walsall after an 88th-minute leveller, as both sides banked a first point.

1 SOUTH – Knowle’s Georgia Jones got the only goal for victory at Cookley Sports, to put them level on points with leaders Solihull Sporting. Elsewhere, Leamington Lions drew 2-2 with Rugby Town.
