Women’s Regional Leagues: Owls off the mark with stunning win

Without a point and 2-0 down away from home at half-time, Sheffield Wednesday stunned Bradford Park Avenue with eight second-half goals.

EASTERN – Six-goal Needham Market go second 

Premier – Needham Market went second as Eva Hubbard hit a hat-trick in a 6-2 victory at Kings Lynn Town, Wroxham’s Holly Connell bagged a crucial brace for a 4-3 win at Colney Heath, Bowers & Pitsea also winning on the road 5-2 at Bedford.

1 North – Biggleswade United’s 6-2 success at St Ives Town sent them clear at the top, AFC Dunstable defeated Fakenham Town 5-0 aided by a Gemma Whitchurch treble, Wootton Blue Cross got off the mark in style when sinking Yaxley Phoenix 7-2.

1 South – No goals in the only game as AFC Sudbury Reserves were held 0-0 by Grays Athletic.

EAST MIDLANDS – Stags win only game

Premier – County Cup duties left just one game in the whole league, after which Mansfield Town moved to within a point of fourth-placed Basford United by beating them 2-0.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Millwall move clear

Premier – Millwall Lionesses opened up a two-point lead with all four goals at New London Lionesses, second-placed Worthing were held 0-0 in front of nearly 300 at Dulwich Hamlet. Fulham put eight passed Aylesford, Sutton United defeat Dartford 5-3 aided by two from Olivia Watson, while AFC Acorns versus Saltdean United finished two apiece.

1 North – Wins for both the leading pair as Clapton got a 2-1 result at Watford Devs and Dulwich Hamlet Reserves defeated hosts Hackney 3-0. Leatherhead beat Sport London E Benfica 3-1 as substitute Meggie McLoughlin scored twice, Brentford’s Chloe Logie got all their goals in a 4-2 defeat of Denham United.

1 South – Hastings United hit eight at Newhaven to go second on goal-difference, Eastbourne United remained level on points with them as Bethany Chambers got a couple during a 3-0 win at Montpelier Villa. Welling United were 4-0 winners at Herne Bay, Bexhill United put their first points on the board helped by Christy Haragan double in the 3-1 scoreline against Steyning Town.

NORTH EAST – Wilde nets five in remarkable Wednesday win

Premier – Wallsend BC lead by three points after Jessica Ellison’s hat-trick brought them a 3-2 win at Blyth Town,  Chester le Street Town’s Nichole Havery netted five as they ran out 9-0 winners at Harrogate Town after the EFL match on Saturday. Wakefield’s Neve Renwick netted twice in a 3-3 draw with Redcar Town.

1 North –  Hartlepool United were the first to defeat leaders Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves, as Atalia Robinson struck twice in a 3-1 result. All the goals came in the first half as Wallsend BC Reserves and Thornaby tied 2-2.

1 South – Sheffield Wednesday’s first points were won in an extraordinary game at Bradford Park Avenue, where they trailed 2-0 at the break but Molly Wilde scored five times in an 8-2 scoreline. Ossett United also won big on their travels, 10-0 at Ripon City.

NORTH WEST – Poulton victorious in goalfest

Premier –  Blackburn CSC hit Wigan Athletic for six to go fourth, Fleetwood Town Wrens came out on top 3-2 against Tranmere Rovers, while it was 2-2 between Mossley Hill Athletic and West Didsbury & Chorlton.

1 South – Poulton Vics rose to second spot with a 7-4 win at Warrington Wolves, Alder 2-3 BRNESC took the points 3-2 at Alder.

SOUTHERN – Milton takeover from Kidlington

Premier – Ascot United advanced into pole position on goal-difference, when scoring seven times at Oxford City.

1 North – Milton United replaced Kidlington at the top with Sarah Saunders netting three in a 7-2 result, while Long Crendon won 3-1 at Carterton.

1 South – Rushmoor rose up to second with a 2-0 result over Chichester City, Abbey Rangers are up and running after a 3-0 win against Woking

SOUTH WEST – Sticker lead on goals scored

Premier – Bristol Rovers lead the table on goals scored following a 5-1 win at Liskeard Athletic. Forest Green Rovers are goal-difference behind the top two having edged Poole Town 3-2, whose Rebecca Witherington was shown the red card.

1 East – AEK Boco’s 5-1 win at Paulton Rovers put them top, Stockwood Wanderers beat Frome Town 2-1 and Middlezoy’s opening victory came 3-2 over Weymouth.

1 North – Frampton Rangers and SGS Olveston United both won 3-0 to go first and second respectively, the former at Oldland Abbotonians, the latter at Chipping Sodbury Town.

1 West – Sticker’s 4-1 win at Saltash United was helped by two from Tori Marks and saw them leapfrog their hosts on goal-difference and go top on goals scored.

WEST MIDLANDS – Graham gives Sutton Coldfield narrow lead

Premier – Sutton Coldfield Town edged Solihull Sporting with a Ruth Graham effort to go top on goals scored ahead of Worcester City, who lost 1-0 at home to Kidderminster Harriers for whom Macy Fox found the net. Lye Town leapfrogged Lichfield City on goal-difference with a 4-3 defeat of them.

1 South – Knowle netted five times at Westfields to extend their lead at the top to three points, Coventry Sphinx beat Bewdley Town 4-0 away to go second. Kingfisher defeated Droitwich Spa by the odd goal in seven, Leamington Lions are off the mark after a 2-2 draw with Worcester City Development.
