Bridgwater United caused a Vitality Women’s FA Cup 3rd Round upset by eliminating Crystal Palace.

FAWNL side Bridgwater defeated Championship visitors Crystal Palace after Laura Holden scored on half-time following a spillage by the Eagles’ keeper.

Southampton FC won after extra-time at Portsmouth before the pair meet again in the league at Fratton Park on Wednesday, Lincoln also needed the additional half-hour to see off Northampton Town.

Emily Scarr made the breakthrough on 65 minutes as Sunderland edged past hosts Brighouse Town.

Bristol City went through 5-0 at home to Lewes but there was a long delay for an injury to the Rooks’ Kallie Balfour, who was stretchered off.

Newcastle United went through 3-0 at Chorley.
