Sheffield United have signed versatile midfielder Katie Anderson from FA Women’s National League side Derby County on a dual club registration.
Formerly of Sheffield FC in WSL 2, Anderson suffered an ACL injury but joined Derby at the start of this season.
A midfielder who can also play out wide, the 22-year-old told sufc.co.uk: “It feels good. I did my ACL after being with Sheffield FC, so it feels good to be back in the Championship now and hopefully I can make an impact.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started this weekend. Hopefully I can start where I left off. I hope to bring passion and dedication and hopefully win games of football!
“I hope to be able to bring some experience. I know what this league is about and I know obviously it’s a different level to the league Derby are in, but hopefully I’ll be fine!”
Head coach Neil Redfearn commented: “Katie’s a very versatile player who can play a few positions. She caught my eye when she was at Sheffield FC and I was manager of Doncaster Rovers Belles. She’s a very technically gifted player and will fit in perfectly with our passing game.”
