SheBelieves Cup: Iceland face tournament decider against USWNT

Iceland held a two-point advantage over the USA ahead of the final matches in the SheBelieves Cup on Wednesday 23 February.

Iceland made it two wins from two, scoring twice early on to defeat the Czech Republic.

Natasha Anasi netted after 11 minutes and Selma Sól Magnúsdóttir doubled the lead soon after.

Michaela Khýrová pulled a goal back but with only five minutes remaining.

Liverpool’s Meikayla Moore had a first half to forget against the USA, the New Zealand defender conceding a hat-trick of own-goals.

Two of those came in the first half-a-dozen minutes, her unfortunate contributions coming with left foot, right foot and header, before she was substituted by the break.

Ashley Hatch got a fourth goal early in the second half and Mallory Pugh made it 5-0 in stoppage-time.

Wednesday night brings the last games, with the Czech Republic and New Zealand first up at 11pm (UK time),  Iceland then taking on the hosts at 2am.
