Pompey Women were taken to penalties by Southern League side Moneyfields before winning the Portsmouth Divisional FA Cup.
Both teams went into the final on the back of failed applications to move up a level, Portsmouth missing out on a place in the Championship and Moneyfields denied a National League spot.
Portsmouth, who play two tiers above Moneyfields and beat them 4-1 in October’s delayed 2019/20 final, were held to a goalless 90 minutes.
Moneyfields’ keeper Lauren Sayler tipped over an Ava Rowbotham effort, Katie James was denied a goal by the crossbar in her final game for Portsmouth, teammate Jade Widdows also striking the woodwork in the first half and similarly Rowbotham with the follow-up.
In the last ten minutes, Pompey’s Shannon Albuery had an effort ruled out for offside and James hit the bar a second time.
When it came down to a shoot-out, Hannah Haughton saved one penalty as Moneyfields missed three in a row, before Rowbotham hit the winner for Portsmouth.
