Leicester City Women have made their fourth signing of FA WSL Academy silverware winners from last season in former Arsenal youngster Paige Bailey-Gayle.

Bailey-Gayle scored twice as Arsenal beat Manchester United 5-0 to lift the Academy Cup and the 17-year-old made three first team appearances for the Gunners last term.

She also has England experience having helped the U-17 Lionesses to a fourth-place finish at the European Championships in Lithuania last summer.

Speaking to LCWFC TV, Bailey-Gayle said: “I saw Leicester City a few times last season, it’s a really good club and there’s a lot of young players here. From where I’m coming from, this feels like a really good place to start my senior career.”

Manager Jonathan Morgan said: “Paige is a very direct, pacy, quick winger. She’s got an eye for goal, she’s got an eye for setting an assist up too.

“We saw her in one of the Development Cup games last season and we were certain that she’s ready for the Championship. She’s another player that we’re certain will go into the WSL at some point in her career.”
