Leicester City have signed 25-year-old Netherlands international shot-stopper Lize Kop from Ajax on three-year deal.

Kop has seven caps from the Netherlands and was included in their World Cup squad.

She twice won the Eredivisie title in her three seasons with Ajax and has also played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Kop told lcfc.com: “It feels great to be here, and it feels like home already. I wanted to have new experiences within my career, and I feel like this move came at the right time. I spoke to [Head Coach] Willie [Kirk] and I felt good right away.

“The ambitions of the club are great and that was a big part of the move for me. I want to work towards those ambitions and be part of it. I hope the WSL will make me a better player and hopefully I can help the team with my experience.”
