Aston Villa midfielder Lucy Staniforth has joined the England squad on standby for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Staniforth will join the group at St. George’s Park today and replaces Jess Park who will return to Manchester City for rehabilitation on her shoulder injury.

She joins Maya Le Tissier on standby and both will remain with the squad until the opening match against Haiti in Brisbane on 22 July.

England face Portugal on Saturday 1 July in a send-off international at a sold-out Stadium MK – live on ITV1 at 3.15pm – and then fly to Australia on Wednesday 5 July.
