Manchester United Women’s Kirsty Hanson has signed a new contract with the club until the end of the 2020/21 season, with an option to extend for a further year.

The Scotland international joined the club in July 2018 and was one of several United youth graduates to return when the women’s team was formed. Hanson has made 42 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 8 goals.

Kirsty Hanson said: “It’s really exciting to sign a new deal and continue my development at Manchester United, it’s been a dream to come back to the club where it all started for me and I’m really enjoying my journey here. We have such a great group of hard working players who all want the best for each other and that inspires me every single day. I’m still young and I know I can develop further under the coaching staff, so I’m really looking forward to next season; I just want to be back out on the pitch playing the game that I love.”

Head coach Casey Stoney said: “Kirsty is a fantastic talent who has contributed so much to the team over the last two years. She works extremely hard and is constantly improving; a senior call up for Scotland this season is testament to the work she puts in everyday here at United. As a young player I also know there is much more to come from her and I’m looking forward to seeing her continue to develop on and off the pitch.”
