Kim Little returns for Scotland double-header

Kim Little has returned from the ACL injury which ruled her out of Euro 2017, to be included in the Scotland squad for the two upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Poland, reports scottishfa.co.uk.

Scotland have won their opening two games in the group so far, beating Belarus 2-1 and Albania 5-0.

They will travel to Switzerland first and take on a team who have played four matches in the group already. Scotland will then return home to play Poland at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Kim Little will be aiming to play her first match for Scotland since March 2017, having returned to the Arsenal starting line-up recently.

In the Continental Cup Final last week, Little was Player of the Match in a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Fresh from picking up their first caps in the most recent double header against New Zealand in Pinatar, Abbi Grant and Zoe Ness are included.

Rachel Corsie and Christie Murray have both signed for new clubs this week, penning deals with Utah Royals and Glasgow City respectively.

Head Coach Shelley Kerr said: “We are really excited about the two upcoming matches against Switzerland and Poland matches.

“We have had four matches already this year and have prepared well.

“It’ll be great to have Kim Little back in the squad as she’s such an impressive player.

“Switzerland will be a big test for us as a squad before we come back to Paisley for the game against Poland.

“There was a great atmosphere at the Albania game in October and we’re hoping for more of the same this time around too.”
