Johnson Joins Sheffield FC Ladies

Sheffield FC Ladies manager Zoe Johnson has added to her squad ahead of the new FA WSL2 season by securing the signature of former Derby County striker, Melissa Johnson.

The 25-year old forward spent the past five seasons at Derby, scoring nearly 40 competitive goals over the past two seasons and Sheffield FC say she has shown a desire to try to push herself further and compete at a higher level.

Zoe Johnson is looking forward to working with her new signing: “I’m delighted Mel has agreed to sign for us. She’s a quick forward with a real natural eye for goal.”

“Since training with us, Mel has impressed all the staff with her professionalism, work rate and desire to want to be the best she can be. I’m looking forward to seeing her progress with us.”

Melissa Johnson had this to say to sheffield.fawsl.xom about her arrival at the club: “I feel it’s the right time personally for a new challenge, and I want to push myself to achieve bigger things.”

“I’ve heard nothing but positive things surrounding Sheffield FC, and am grateful to be given an opportunity to be apart of it. I hope to be a valuable asset in helping the club achieve as much as possible in the near future.”

“I’m feeling settled already due to the girls and staff being so welcoming, and I’m really looking forward to the start of the season.”
