Charlton Athletic are looking good for the FAWPL Southern Division title after a 6-0 victory at Chichester City sent them top on Wednesday night.

Charlton raced into a 4-0 lead in the first 28 minutes, Nicole Pepper netting straight from a corner, Charley Clifford bagging a brace and Georgia Griffin getting the fourth. Charlotte Gurr and Kit Graham then both scored in a three-minute spell after the hour mark.

The Addicks are two points clear of C & K Basildon and two more ahead of Crystal Palace, with a game in hand on each. They play the Eagles in the Capital Cup final at Rectory Park this Sunday, then visit them in the league seven days later.

Long Eaton leapfrogged Solihull Moors into the top half of Midland Division 1 when beating them 3-1 away. Viki Adams and Jade Arber both found the net for United with assists by Cara Newton, while they also benefitted from an own-goal.

Liverpool Feds got the only goal at Crewe to keep alive their slim chance of catching Northern Division 1 leaders Hull City. The breakthrough came 20 minutes from the end, Carla Lee on target when one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a long ball from Roisin Havelin.

Chorley are all but safe after a dramatic 2-1 win at Mossley Hill, leaving the hosts just a point above the bottom two. The hosts opened the scoring but Chorley turned the game around in the last 9 minutes.

MK Dons gained ground on South East Division 1 leaders AFC Wimbledon with a 2-0 result at Stevenage, which sees them six points off the top with three games in hand. Kim Farrow ran from the halfway line to get the first goal on 56 minutes and late on Heather McDonnell beat the offside trap to lob home from 30 yards out.
