Northern Premier – Rovers lead cut
Sunderland and Huddersfield Town both moved to within thee points of leaders Blackburn Rovers but from two game more, after the Black Cats beat Derby County 5-2 and the Terriers came through 3-2 at Sheffield FC.
Bridget Galloway hit a hat-trick for Sunderland, Mollie Lambert and Georgia Gibson one apiece, Emily Joyce having levelled for the Rams and Cara Newton getting their second.
Brittany Sanderson and Katie Nutter were on target for Town as they came from behind to beat Sheffield FC. They cancelled out Emily Wortley’s opener through an own-goal, Holly Housley gave the hosts hope with a late effort and Huddersfield had substitute Shauna Legge dismissed in stoppage time.
Middlesbrough leapfrogged Hull City into seventh spot when defeating the Tigresses 3-1 away.
Southern Premier – Watford defeat leaders
Third-placed Watford sent leaders Chichester City to a single-goal defeat. The attempted clearance from Emily Hill’s first-half effort went in off Danielle Scanlon.
Loughborough Foxes’ Becky Knight got the only goal 13 minutes in as Cardiff City Ladies went down 1-0 and the Welsh side had Nadia Lawrence sent off in added time.
Northern Division 1 – Late pen gives Barnsley 4-3 win
Chester le Street Town are on the heels of second-in-the-table Brighouse Town after hitting Morecambe for six. Nichole Havery got three of the goals, Elizabeth Thompson-Clarke two and Laura Hockaday one.
Newcastle United inflicted an eleventh straight defeat on Crewe Alexandra to go fourth, Steph Ord with both goals.
Barnsley jumped into fifth position when winning a seven-goal thriller at Norton. Courtney Corrie, Bianca Owens and Maddy Atkinson were on target for Ancients, Rebecca Hornsey, Melissa Woodhouse, Sophie Crosby and Kathryn Smith netting for the Tykes, the latter from the spot with only 2 minutes left.
South West Division 1 – Keynsham back on top
Keynsham Town took the chance to return to the summit when thrashing Poole Town 9-0. Kerry Bartlett led the way with a four-goal haul, Justine Lorton added a couple, Corinne Yorston, Ellis Hillman and Laura Williams got one each.
