AFC Wimbledon edged New London Lionesses 4-3 on sudden-death penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra-time in The SSE Women’s FA Cup 1st Round tie played at Northwood FC.

Catherine Bisson hit a hat-trick for the Dons, who play two levels above the Lionesses, her team now going forward to host more senior opposition themselves, when facing Portsmouth on 2nd December.

The Greater London League Premier Division side took a 15th-minute lead but Bisson buried a 25-yard free kick to level and Katherine Billingham scored from another set-piece to give Wimbledon an advantage at the interval.

Bisson stepped up to score her second free kick from the edge of the box but the Lionesses replied within 10 minutes and then forced the extra half-hour with an equaliser in added time.

The Dons had substitute Laura Quinn-Low carried off with only a few minutes left but when it came down to the shoot-out, Edie Kelly’s third penalty save ensured victory.
