FAWNL: Southampton FC Women seal title in front of over 5,000

Southampton beat Portsmouth 2-0 at St Mary’s to become FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division champions.

Southampton FC 2-0 Portsmouth (Att: 5,145)

Sophia Pharoah struck just before half time for the Saints and the second half was only two minutes old when Lucia Kendall doubled the lead in the south coast derby.

Southampton will now face Northern Premier Division winners Wolves in a play off for promotion to the FA Women’s Championship.

Alnwick Town 2-5 Durham Cestria (Att: 41)

Durham Cestria climbed two places to third with victory at an already relegated Alnwick. Nicki Gears got two of Durham’s five first-half goals, with the hosts replying twice in the second period.
