Everton have signed England U-23 midfielder Jodie Brett, who had been with Chelsea since she was 9 years old but was recently on loan at Bristol City.
Penning a two-year deal with the Toffees, Brett is looking forward to taking on a new challenge.
“The move has come around quite quickly and I am really delighted to be here,” she told evertontv. “I can’t wait to get started.
“I know a few of the girls already from playing with England and I have met a few of them as well. Everyone has made me feel really welcome. I’m buzzing to start pre-season in August and meet the rest of them.”
Brett intends to play her part in helping Everton achieve their ambitions, and admitted it was the Toffees’ plans for the future that enticed her to swap London for Liverpool.
“Everton as a club are very ambitious and hopefully I can add to that while I am here,” she added. “I am looking forward to it. I’m new coming into the group but there are a couple of others as well, especially in midfield. For me it is a new challenge, a new step in my career and I can’t wait.”
