Charlton Athletic have signed Elizabeta Ejupi from Aston Villa, the 5′ 11” Albanian international having played five times for the Addicks up until 2013.

Twenty-four year-old Ejupi had left Charlton to study at the University of Nottingham, during which time she played for Nottingham Forest and Notts County.

Upon putting pen to paper, Ejupi told the club’s website: “I grew up playing for Charlton. I worked my way up the centre of excellence so it’s good to be back home.”

On reasons for returning to the club, she added: “I really enjoyed my season at Villa, but I wanted to come back to London and Charlton’s my local side.”

On her new side’s chances in Tier 2, she said: “I think we’ve got a really good team here and we can definitely push to finish top three in this division with the quality we’ve got.”
