Hull City remain two points behind leaders Middlesbrough and with two games still in hand, after going down to seventh-placed Doncaster. Izzy Gigg’s goal had the Belles leading at the break, Hannah McWilliams crossed for Arianne Parnham to volley home the second and Jasmine Saxton got the third. Hull had  Chloe Copsey sent off in stoppage time.

Burnley and Wolves both won big in the Northern Premier, the Clarets netting nine in pushing Fylde to the verge of relegation, Wanderers putting eight away at Stourbridge who are seven points ahead of Huddersfield – from two games more – in the battle to stay up. A Laura Elford hat-trick helped Burnley climb above Nottingham Forest into second place, while Amber Hughes, Anna Morphet, Tammi George and Liv Fergusson each bagged a brace for Wolves.

The Division 1 Midlands leadership is one again in the hands of Loughborough Lightning, who went above Sporting Khalsa with a 6-1 win at Notts County. Jade Arber and Ferne Powell both scored twice, as the home side were left two points above the drop zone.

Haywards Heath are almost down after defeat at Worthing, where they did open the scoring. Katie Cooper levelled before half time, Samantha Quayle and Izzy Glass-Oliver with one apiece for a 3-1 result.
