Crawley Wasps Ladies have announced that they have parted company with first-team manager Paul Walker by mutual consent.

FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division title contenders in 2019-20, Wasps said in a statement:

Assistant manager Dave Cole will lead the team through pre-season as interim first-team manager. His role as the club’s new director of football remains unaffected at present.

All other first-team staff continue to work towards preparing the squad for the season ahead.

Walker became first-team manager in 2015, leading the club to back-to-back promotions in 2018 and 2019 and the Sussex Women’s Challenge Cup in February 2020. He was also the club’s chairman between June 2017 and June 2020.

The Crawley Wasps board expresses its gratitude to Paul for his hard work on behalf of the club, and for the success achieved during his time as manager. We wish him all the best for the future.
