Chelsea FC Women sign 24-year-old Swedish goalkeeper Zećira Muśović from Rosengard on a 2.5 year deal.
Mušović, who joins the Blues on 1 January, has won four Damallsvenskan titles and the Swedish Cup three times.
She captained Sweden to success at the 2015 UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship final and achieved her first senior cap in March 2018, going on to be called up for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Upon signing for Chelsea Women, Mušović said: ‘It is a huge honour to be representing one of the biggest clubs in the world. The women´s game is developing fast, especially in England, and Chelsea is one of the top teams that are driving that process forward.
‘I am always striving to be the best and therefore, I am happy to be joining one of the best. I cannot wait to continue my journey in London and hopefully help the club to reach even greater heights in the future.’
Emma Hayes, commenting on the signing, said: ‘We first saw a young Zećira in our pre-season friendly against Rosengard nearly four years ago. We spotted she had potential right from the start and after monitoring over a number of years, including when she played against us in the Champions League in 2017, we are confident she fits the profile of a Chelsea goalkeeper well.
‘Zećira is driven, hungry to be the best and also has international and Champions League experience. I have no doubt her best is yet to come and we really look forward to welcoming her into the team in the New Year.’
