Barclays #FAWSL: Player and Manager of the Month for September announced

High performance levels in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League lead to a host of candidates for the first Player and Manager of the Month Awards.

In order to choose the winners Barclays has set up the Barclays FA WSL Awards Panel that includes ex-players and managers, administrators, journalists and broadcasters who work across women’s football. They, as well as the public through an online vote, will select the Player and Manager of the Month awards throughout the season, and the Barclays Player and Manager of the Season.

The winners of the September awards are:

Barclays Player of the Month – Chloe Kelly, the Everton striker, has won the first ever Barclays Player of the Month for her performances during the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in September. Chloe helped Everton win their first two matches including a match winning brace against Bristol City, that has seen Everton rise to fourth in the table.

Barclays Manager(s) of the Month – Tottenham joint head coaches, Karen Hills and Juan Amoros, have been awarded the Barclays Manager of the Month Award for September 2019. The co-managers, overcame a narrow opening day loss away at Chelsea that was swiftly forgotten with two victories against Liverpool and West Ham that also included two clean sheets.

London Bees Manager Lee Burch has been awarded The FA Women’s Championship Manager of the Month trophy for September by the LMA Panel.

The FAWC Player of the Month award went to Durham’s Molly Sharpe.
