The UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship starting next week will be live on BBC Sport, iPlayer and via the Red Button.
Women’s Under 19 European Championship – Czech Republic – (coverage 27 June – 9 July)
England are the only qualified home nation. They lifted the trophy back in 2009 and that victory was the platform for future senior England stars Izzy Christiansen, Jordan Nobbs, Jade Moore and Toni Duggan.
Chelsea’s Agnes (Aggie) Beever-Jones (who spent the season on loan at FA Women’s Championship side Bristol City) top scored for England in qualifying with five goals including a hat-trick in their final game against Belgium. Captain Charlotte Wardlaw played for FA Women’s Championship winners Liverpool last season and was also on loan from Chelsea.
Current holders France lead a strong field that also includes host Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Italy and Spain.
