Liverpool FC Women have signed 22-year-old Rianna Dean after three years at Tottenham Hotspur, which included their promotion to the top tier.
A former England U-21 international, Dean scored 21 times in 63 appearances for Spurs.
Liverpool manager Matt Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: “It was important we signed a proven goalscorer and Rianna has done that consistently in two seasons in the Championship.
“She had a great first WSL season before being in and out of the team last year. So she’s hungry and we’re getting a talented young player as well as adding depth to the squad and competition for places.”
Dean commented: “I’m buzzing, the club is massive, I’m really looking forward to it and I’m really happy to be here.
“My job is to score goals and hopefully that is what the fans will see from me. I like to work hard and do my best for the team.
“I’ve come here to get promotion and help the team push on.”
First friendly
Meanwhile, Liverpool will begin their pre-season campaign with a fixture against AFC Fylde on Sunday July 18. The 60-minute game will kick off at 2pm and although played behind closed doors, the game will be live and free to watch on LFC Women’s social media channels, including LFC YouTube.
