Brogan Hay of Rangers has been voted as the winner of the SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League Player of the Month for April 2021.
The winger was a constant threat for the Gers in April, scoring twice and providing three assists as her side picked up 12 points from a possible 15. This included setting up Lizzie Arnot for Rangers’ only goal in their win over Hibernian.
Speaking from the Rangers Training Centre, Hay said: “It’s an incredible feeling to win this award. The suspension of football was difficult for everyone but I’m pleased with how we as a team and how I’ve performed since returning to action.”
It’s the second time that Hay has ever won the Player of the Month award, winning previously for August/September 2019. Her victory also means that Rangers have won the award back-to-back with Lizzie Arnot winning in December 2020.
“It’s nice to add another trophy to the collection” said Hay. “I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me.”
On top of winning the public vote, Hay also came out with the most votes amongst the Head Coaches in the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1.
Paul Denton, Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Building Society, said: “A huge well done to Brogan for winning April’s Player of the Month. She received high praise for her performances this month and it was no surprise to see her nominated.”
Also nominated for the April award was Lauren Perry (Forfar Farmington), Ode Fulutudilu (Glasgow City), and Rebecca Galbraith (Spartans).
