Derby County climbed three places to sixth with a 7-0 victory at Sheffield FC in the only Northern Premier fixture, the scoreline leaving their hosts just one goal off the foot of the table.
Plymouth Argyle and Watford put on quite a show for the 800 crowd in the new grandstand at Home Park, the Hornets winning 5-4 to go three points clear at the top of the Southern Premier.
Georgia Timms and Kayleigh Hines got late goals as Oxford United pipped fourth-placed Yeovil Town by the odd goal in seven.
Division 1 – Barnsley and Ipswich Town extend leads
Kathryn Smith and Sophie Bell scored close to the interval as Barnsley beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 to go six points ahead of the rest in Division 1 North. Newcastle netted four goals past Stockport County to go above them into eighth place.
Natasha Thomas netted in either half as Division 1 South East top team Ipswich Town overcame Cambridge United 5-0. AFC Wimbledon’s 3-0 result at KFU put them second, Justine Buckmire bagged a six-minute brace in Actonians win over Cambridge City. Katherine Long completed a hat-trick as Enfield Town sunk Norwich City 7-1. Kelly Wealthall also scored three as AFC Basildon beat Stevenage in a 6-4 goal-fest.
Bedworth United jumped four places to second in Division 1 Midlands when netting nine at Burton Albion, with TNS held 3-3 by Doncaster Rovers Belles and Leafield Athletic leapfrogging Sporting Khalsa into seventh spot.
Southampton Women’s are within two points of the Division 1 South West leaders following a 4-0 victory at Maidenhead United, while Sarah Stacey hit a hat-trick for Buckland Athletic in their 4-2 defeat of Swindon Town.
Forest into Plate quarter-finals
Nottingham Forest knocked Leeds United out of the Plate with Laura Dexter scoring once and Precious Hamilton twice all in a ten-minute spell straddling half-time.
