#FAWNL: League, Cup & Plate Preliminaries Round-Up

Ipswich and Southampton WFC went top of their respective FA Women’s National League tables, Durham Cestria and Larkhall launched great fightbacks.

Northern Premier

Loughborough Lightning 1-2 Middlesbrough
West Bromwich Albion 1-3 Huddersfield Town (Att: 95)
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 Hull City (Att: 60)

Wolves went four points clear at the top after a narrow win over Hull. Laura Elford scored twice and Serena Fletcher the other as Huddersfield won at West Brom to go third in the table, Middlesbrough doubled their points tally with victory at Loughborough were Armani Maxwell scored twice.

Southern Premier

Hounslow 0-1 Keynsham Town (Att: 35)
Ipswich Town 3-0 Milton Keynes Dons (Att: 380)
London Bees 4-0 Gillingham
Southampton FC P-P Cardiff City LFC
Portsmouth 0-2 Bridgwater United (Att: 194)

Nearly 400 fans saw Ipswich ascend to the summit after defeating MK Dons, third-placed Bridgwater took the points 2-0 at Portsmouth, Crawley climbed to fourth with a five-goal victory, aided by a hat-trick of assists for Iesha Swaby. Hannah Porter got both the first two goals as London Bees scored four against Gillingham.

Division 1 Midlands

Doncaster Rovers Belles 5-0 Leek Town (Att: 127)
Lincoln City 3-1 Holwell Sports (Att: 101)

Lincoln came from behind to win and move five points ahead of the rest, five-goal Doncaster joined second-placed Boldmere on 16 points, Bedworth got off the mark by winning the basement battle at Burton.

Leeds United 5-5 Durham Cestria (Att: 242)

Leeds were held to a high-scoring draw by eighth-placed Durham Cestria but the leaders did move one point ahead of Liverpool Feds. Laura Bartup netted a treble for United, Jordan Atkinson matched that for Durham as her side fought back from 5-2 down.

Division 1 South East

Billericay Town 3-2 Enfield Town (Att: 127)
London Seaward 1-1 Actonians (Att: 21)
Harlow Town 0-8 Hashtag United
Stevenage 0-2 Cambridge United (Att: 80)

Leaders Hashtag hit eight past hosts Harlow with three of those by Amy-Leigh Abrehart, Billericay in second edged Enfield by the odd goal in five, Ellie Jeffkins striking twice in the last ten minutes.

Division 1 South West

Larkhall Athletic 4-4 Chesham United (Att: 50)
Southampton Women 7-0 Portishead (Att: 70)

Southampton Women’s seven goals against Portishead put them into pole position on goal-difference, Larkhall came from 3-0 down to lead 4-3 before a well taken penalty saw the points shared.

Long Eaton United 3-4 Norton & Stockton Ancients

Katie James netted both of Bournemouth’s first-half goals in the 5-0 defeat of Kent Football United, Oxford recorded a similar score against Swindon as Katie Baker netted three times. Brighouse eliminated Stoke with an Amy Woodruff hat-trick and Leah Embley brace.

Sporting Khalsa 5-2 Peterborough United

Stockport repeated their recent win over FC United, Daisy-Mai Clements got all three goals for Leafield against Solihull whose Chlo Coldicott was stretchered off.
