Young Lionesses Squad For U-19 Qualifiers

Mo Marley has named her England squad for the opening round of UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship qualifiers.

The Young Lionesses will take on Wales, Slovenia and hosts Kazakhstan in the round-robin competition from 18 to 24 October, with the top two nations advancing to the elite qualifying round which will take place next spring, reports TheFA.com.

Eleven of the 20-strong squad represented England at the 2016 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup, while a further six went to last season’s U-17 Euro finals in Czech Republic, including Vauxhall Young England Women’s Player of the Year Lauren Hemp.

This season’s Euro finals will be staged in Switzerland next July.

Goalkeepers: Emily Ramsey (Liverpool), Ellie Roebuck (Manchester City).

Defenders: Lois Joel (University of West Virginia), Laura Hooper (Seattle University), Hollie Olding (University of Kentucky), Taylor Hinds (Arsenal), Anna Filbey (Arsenal), Grace Smith (University of West Virginia), Poppy Pattinson (Manchester City), Esme Morgan (Manchester City).

Midfielders: Flo Allen (Bristol City), Ellie Fletcher (Liverpool), Jessie Jones (Yeovil Town), Connie Scofield (Birmingham City), Isabella Sibley (Chelsea).

Forwards: Lauren Hemp (Bristol City), Jess Ngunga (Arsenal), Beth O’Donnell (Manchester City), Paige Sawyer (Yeovil Town), Ella Toone (Manchester City)
