#WPWL: Late Laura May Walkley brace breaks Briton Ferry hearts

Cardiff City FC, Port Talbot Town and Swansea City all made it two wins from two games in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League.

Swansea City 3-0 Aberystwyth Town

Cardiff City FC Women held top spot with a double-figure defeat of Llandudno who had been second in the table. Alana Murphy hit a 15-minute hat-trick, Kate Jeremiah also scored three, with a double by Zoe Atkins and one each for Siobhan Walsh and Lisa Owen.

Port Talbot Town went second with a 2-1 victory at Briton Ferry Llansawel but only after scoring twice in the last 11 minutes. Sophie Topper had the hosts ahead midway through the first half but Laura May Walkley turned the game in the visitors favour with a six-minute brace.

Swansea City are up to third after a 3-0 defeat of Aberystwyth Town. Stacey John-Davis broke the deadlock shortly before the interval, a Caroline Cooper own-goal gave the Swans a two-goal cushion and Katy Hosford rounded off the scoring 14 minutes from time.

Defending champions Cardiff Met got off the mark with a 2-0 derby victory over neighbours Cyncoed. Madison Schupbach got both goals in a nine-minute spell before the hour mark.
