Abergavenny won 3-1 at Rhyl to go second in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League, Cardiff City FC climbed to fourth place when hitting Llandudno 6-3.

Lauren Daniels gave Abergavenny the lead but Rhyl were level 8 minutes later on the half hour mark.

Laura Davies had the visitors back in front after the interval and Kate Jeremiah then struck a third to seal the points.

Danielle Broad fired Cardiff City FC Women in front early on via the post but Aimee Todd soon levelled at the back post for Llandudno.

Danielle Green’s shot on the turn restored the advantage only for Mari Gibbard to chip the onrushing Ceryn Chamberlain to make it 2-2.

The Bluebirds did take control by the break though, as Siobhan Walsh put them ahead for the third time, with Green then getting her second and Alana Murphy’s corner was helped into the net by the keeper.

Green completed her hat-trick in the last 10 minutes and Gibbard got her second for the visitors.
