Swansea City finished runners-up in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League after a 5-0 victory at Port Talbot Town on the final day of the season.

Lauren Smith and Katy Hosford had the Swans 2-0 up at the break, Kelly Adams soon added a third after the restart, with Emma Beynon and Sarah Adams also on target in the last couple of minutes.

Any hopes of Cardiff City FC finishing second ended with a 6-2 home defeat by Abergavenny. Alana Murphy did get the opener for the Bluebirds but Lyndsey Davies and Kate Jeremiah turned the game round by half time and each scored again in the second half. Danielle Green netted City’s second, with Jeremiah then completing her hat-trick in what was the last game in charge for manager Richie Jeremiah.

Briton Ferry Llansawel had been bottom but finished the campaign with a remarkable three wins in four, Renee Day with both goals in a 2-0 result at Cyncoed.
