#WomensFACup 1QR: Worthing go to Wycombe after win at Whyteleafe

Worthing won through to the Women’s FA Cup 2nd qualifying round when scoring the only goal of the game at higher division Whyteleafe.

A second-half Sara Tubby header decided a closely fought contest in Surrey, sending South East Counties League leaders Worthing to Wycombe Wanderers of the Southern Premier in the next round on 6 October.

London & South East Premier side Whyteleafe had only very recently been confirmed as re-instated in the competition after a 6-3 defeat to Millwall Lionesses, who were found to have included two incorrectly registered players and were therefore removed from the cup.

One other outstanding 1st Qualifying Round game was again postponed and will now be reversed, meaning that FC United of Manchester host Morecambe on 6 October for the right to entertain Brighouse Town a week later.
