Spain are the latest nation to seal their place at the 2022 Women’s Euros in England, following a thrashing of Azerbaijan.

A 13-0 win away to Azerbaijan on Thursday 18 February took Spain out of reach of Poland, who must now take maximum points when visiting the Group D winners next Tuesday, in order to pip the Czech Republic to the runners-up spot.

Although the game was goalless for the first 20 minutes, Esther Gonzalez then blew the hosts away with four goals in a ten-minute spell and Jennifer Hermoso bagged a brace before the break.

Both scorers from the first 45 minutes would end up with five goals a-piece, while Mariona Caldentey, Eva Navarro and Nerea Eizaguirre added one each.

Also qualified so far are: Belgium, Denmark, England (hosts), France, Germany, Iceland (one of three best runners-up), Netherlands (holders), Norway, Sweden

Northern Ireland, Russia and Ukraine are confirmed for the play-offs, the draw for which will be made on 5 March.
