Wales and Northern Ireland again cancelled each other out in the UEFA Women’s European Championship qualifiers when drawing 0-0 in Belfast.
They had drawn their Newport meeting 2-2 and while Wales end the year four points short of Group C leaders Norway, the Irish gained a secod point.
The 1,177 spectators almost saw a first minute goal when Lauren Wade’ cross was met with a Simone Magill header but Wales keeper Laura O’Sullivan made a good save.
Rachel Rowe’s deflected shot from distance flew just past the home goal and at the other end Rachel Furness headed over the top.
There was a delay while Northern Ireland keeper Becky Flaherty received treatment for a nose injury following a collision with Welsh forward Kayleigh Green.
Rowe and Sophie Ingle both fired over the bar as Wales looked a grab a winner in the last quarter of the game, while Flaherty produced a superb save from a low Angharad James drive.
Wade forced a finger-tip save by O’Sullivan in the last 10 minutes, afterwhich Flaherty came to Northern Ireland’s rescue twice more as the points were shared.
