Vitality Women’s FA Cup holders Manchester City thrashed Aston Villa 8-0 in securing a home fifth round tie versus West Ham or Chichester & Selsey.

A deflected Chloe Kelly cross hit the top of the crossbar before the same player had better luck hooking home in the 16th minute.

Sian Rogers parried a powerful Kelly strike but Ellen White doubled the lead at the near post from Lauren Hemp’s cross.

Kelly did manage to double her tally for the day though and give City a 3-0 interval advantage.

A Janine Beckie cross flew straight in, Georgia Stanway got the hosts’ fifth goal and Rose Lavelle found the net via Beckie’s cut-back

Kelly completed her hat-trick six minutes from time and then Sam Mewis rounded off the scoring with a powerful strike.
