Rosie Axten put Forest ahead just after the break but Nyah Edwards equalised for lower-division Wolves. Jade Cross gave Wanderers the lead at the start of extra-time and although Axten’s penalty took the tie to a shootout, Wolves went through when Bec Thomas made a decisive save, setting up another stern test at Watford next week. The Hornets eliminated MK Dons 3-1 after trailing at the break, Rosie Kmita twice on target.
Cheltenham Town took more senior opposition to extra-time before bowing out at Portsmouth. Jade Bradley’s in-swinging corner broke the deadlock and Becki Bath sealed the win, as Pompey progressed to host Gillingham for the right to visit Arsenal in the 4th Round. The Gills edged out Crawley Wasps 3-2 with a second-half Otesha Charles double.
