Chelsea missed a chance to seal a UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final spot when held at home by Juventus.
Group A – Servette 0-3 Wolfsburg, Chelsea 0-0 Juventus
Group B – Kharkiv 0-6 PSG, Breidablik 0-3 Real Madrid
A dominant Chelsea had 25 shots to just two from Juventus but ended frustrated from a goalless draw. The result leaves the Blues three points ahead of both Juve and Wolfsburg, but with a crucial last group game away to the latter next Thursday.
Erin Cuthbert had an early effort turned onto the crossbar by Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who also tipped over strikes by Guro Reiten and Millie Bright, while Sam Kerr hit the woodwork with a cross in the first half.
Kerr did have the ball in the net after the interval but the flag went up for offside, Peyraud-Magnin later coming out to deny the Chelsea striker from a long ball over the top.
Wolfsburg won 3-0 at Servette but only an own-goal from keeper Ines Pereira separated the sides until late efforts from Jill Roord and Tabea Wassmuth.
Paris Saint Germain won Group B and Real Madrid went through as runners-up. PSG hit hosts Kharkiv for six with all the goals coming inside the hour, Ramona Bachmann bagging a first-half brace. Kosovare Asllani struck twice for Real Madrid in the first half at Breidablik, the second from the spot, with Claudia Zornoza adding a late third.
Arsenal host Barcelona at the Emirates tonight and will progress if they avoid defeat, or if Hoffenheim do not win.
