Germany confirmed a UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 semi-final place when doubling their lead over Austria in the 90th minute.
In front of over 16,000 at Brentford Community Stadium, Marina Georgieva headed against the post in a rush of early Austrian set-pieces.
However, it was Germany who opened the scoring as Klara Buhl won possession, before cutting the ball back for Lena Magull to slot home.
Germany’s Giulia Gwinn hit the post, while Austria’s Barbara Dunst was denied by the bar from distance.
An error from Manuela Zinsberger ended with Alexandra Popp equalling the tournament record of scoring in four consecutive games.
Germany will now face France or Netherlands in the semi-final at Stadium MK next Wednesday.
