Denmark got off the mark with a narrow win over Finland in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Group B game at Stadium MK.

Denmark had the best if the first half and Nadia Nadim almost had the in front, until Tinja Riikka Korpela got down to claw the ball away from the goal line.

Emma Koivisto placed a shot wide of the far post, in a rare chance for Finland.

Signed Bruun fired high and wide when placed for the Danes and Pernille Harder led a counter attack from which Karen Holmgaard was thwarted but Korpela.

But into the last 20 minutes, Holmgaard headed against the bar and the rebound fell for Harder to nod home.

The Finns almost forced a stoppage-time leveller but the drive from substitute Danielson was tipped over by Lena Christensen.
