Mexico have made it through to their first ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final and will face Spain at the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo, Uruguay on Saturday 1st December.

A Nicole Pérez penalty inside the first half-hour proved to be the only goal of the game, as Mexico defeated Canada.

Spain were 2-0 winners over New Zealand in the other semi-final, Claudia Pina Medina scoring a few minutes before the break and Irene López doubling the lead soon after the restart.

Canada and New Zealand will play off for third place prior to Saturday’s competition climax.
