#SWFL: Divisional Cup semi-finalists confirmed

In Sunday’s Scottish League Cup ties, Thistle Weir were the only home side to reach the Division 1 semi-finals, while Kelty Hearts and Spartans Development both made Division 2’s last four after extra-time.

Thistle Weir thrashed Queens Park 8-1 in the Division 1 Cup quarter-finals but Celtic Academy went one better at Inverness City, where Brogan Molley got three and Kathleen McGovern four.

Aberdeen U-23s won through 5-2 at Dunfermline Athletic and Hibernian U-23s eliminated East Fife 3-1, with goals from Nicole Rutherford, Ellie-Jai Reid and Jamie-Lee Smith.

There were two top-flight SWFL games, as Deveronvale got off the mark when edging Dee Ladies 1-0 in the North and in the South, Cumbernauld Colts beat hosts Boroughmuir Thistle by the best of five goals, two coming from Frances Fern.

Two Division 2 Cup ties needed extra-time to settle them, as Spartans Development progressed 3-1 at their Motherwell counterparts, with the help of a brace by Leah Boak, while Kelty Hearts put three past Edinburgh Caledonia.

Stonehaven got the only goal of the game at Bishopston and Dryburgh Athletic defeated Airdrie 3-0 with a couple from Steffi Simpson.

Pollock & Hearts both take pole position

In league action, Pollock went top of Division 2 West after returning from Kilwinning 2-1 victors, St Mirren got both goals at Gleniffer Thistle, United Glasgow ran out 5-1 winners at Stranraer and Ayr United walloped Queen of the South 15-0, with Claire Docherty striking four times and Jodie Barbour three.

Hearts Development are the new leaders in Division 2 East after a 4-1 defeat of GOC’s Academy, Jen Dodds contributing twice and Hamilton Academical U-23s won 3-0 at Hawick United in 2 Central.
