Steve Quashie appointed QPR FC Women’s manager

Lifelong Rangers fan Quashie – who has been the driving force behind the QPR Girls’ development as Head Coach since 2005 – is looking forward to his and the R’s next chapter.

The new-look R’s will compete in the fifth tier London & South East Regional League.

Quashie has a clear vision for the future, telling www.qpr.co.uk: “First of all, we want the players to feel good about themselves. We encourage them to play an expansive brand of football, to express themselves on and off the ball and for them to further develop in a positive and professional environment.

“In terms of aspirations we want to secure first position in our league as quickly as we can. We want to progress through the tiers, become a stronger outfit in the years to come and play at the highest possible level.”

Quashie will be assisted by coach Jon Whittingham and goalkeeping coach Callum Stahlmann, who both join the club this summer.

Charlotte Edwards, Women & Girls Football Development Manager, added: “I’ve admired Steve’s coaching from afar for a long time. He’s very honest and open with his players and his dedication to female football over numerous years is there for all to see.

“He’s well-known within the game and the talent he can bring in, in terms of coaching and staffing around the medical team, will really help us and push us forward.”

Rangers kick-off their 2019/20 season at home to Eastbourne Ladies on Sunday 18th August, with their new venue to be confirmed shortly.
