China forward Tang Jiali is to join Tottenham Hotspur Women on loan from Shanghai Shengli, subject to work permit clearance.

A Chinese Super League title-winner, the 26-year-old scored vital goals recently in China’s 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifying campaign against Australia, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

Tang told tottenhamhotspur.com: “I am so happy to be joining Tottenham Hotspur. I am a big fan of Premier League football and I’ve always dreamt of playing in England. I can’t wait to arrive in London, and I hope I can help make it a successful season for the team.”

Head coach Rehanne Skinner said: “We are really excited to have a player of Tang’s quality coming to Spurs. She has been a prolific goalscorer in the Chinese Super League and instrumental in helping China in their successful Olympic qualifying campaign. The additional strengths Tang brings to the team will be key to our success moving into the new season.”
